Father Purcell Memorial Facilities and Purpose

The Center is staffed with over 100 employees including medical personnel (RNs, LPNs, certified nursing assistants and physical management staff), activity personnel (social service workers and dietary personnel), laundry, housekeeping, and administrative staff. The Medical Director is a practicing pediatrician who serves as the attending physician for all the children in the Center.

PURPOSE:
Father Purcell Children's Center exists to serve the nursing, medical, physical and psychosocial needs of children (infants to 18 years of age) who because of severe developmental disabilities require ongoing residential care in a skilled nursing facility. Our goal is to afford each child an experience of the fullness and goodness of life to the limits of his/her ability.

Father Purcell Memorial provides services to developmentally disabled children, their families, and the community at large without regard to race, color, religion, or national origin.

The Father Purcell Center is a non-profit organization - a mission of the "City of St Jude" Archdiocese of Mobile, Alabama.
